Educator, conservationist, and community leader building Projects Galapagos with partners and volunteers since the 1990s.

William Puga at Projects Galapagos

William Puga started working in education and conservation projects in 1993 and co-founded the New Era Galapagos Foundation, which brought international volunteers to San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos.

Projects Galapagos Association was founded in 2010 and grew from the work of NEGF. William served as a Galapagos National Park ranger for five years and has hosted radio programmes focused on community and conservation.

He continues to implement education and conservation programmes that support the Galapagos National Park. As an elected town councillor, he has led projects benefiting the island, community, and its flora and fauna. Local and international volunteers are at the heart of these successes.
